This week we installed two MAXXAIR fans. These are 10 speed reversible fans with a thermostat to control room temperature. We cut two 14x14 inch holes in the roof using a jigsaw, which means no more cutting holes in the van (at least we think). We lined the hole with butyl tape to level the ridges in the roof before placing the fan in. In addition, we built a wooden frame for screws to screw into on the inside & to support the roof. Then, we used lap sealant to prevent any leaks or moisture.
This process was surprisingly easy & we are happy with how they turned out! Eventually we will have it all wired & ready to use!
