Cleaning & Rust Prevention

The first thing we did to the van was clean the interior as much as we could. We also used steel wool to scrub as much hard-to-get stains off.

We then primed all major paint chips/scratches with Rust-Oleum’s Clean Metal Primer before painting over those areas with Rust-Oleum’s Protective Enamel. The goal with this is to help prevent rust forming inside of the van. It would be extremely unfortunate if we were to complete the build and then have to tear everything apart to combat rust formation after the fact.

It doesn’t look too aesthetically pleasing now, but it is definitely a lot cleaner & you won’t be able to see the paint when the walls & floor are insulated!
